LCDC Endorsement Process

Liberty City LGBT Democratic Club endorses candidates based on an open and democratic process.  Members of the Endorsement Committee determine which candidates qualify for endorsement and evaluate them based on candidate responses to a questionnaire, interviews, the candidate’s address to membership, and other research.  The Endorsement Committee then makes recommendations to the General Membership, who ultimately decide on our slate of endorsed candidates.

Below is a record of candidates we have endorsed for each election cycle over the past few years.

LCDC Announces 2015 Primary Election Endorsements

PHILADELPHIA (April 16, 2015) – Liberty City Democratic Club (LCDC), Pennsylvania’s premiere lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) political organization, today endorsed Philadelphia mayoral hopeful Jim Kenney at its annual primary endorsement meeting. “Philadelphia is the most LGBT-friendly city in the nation and that is due in large part to the hard work and leadership of Jim Kenney. Liberty City members overwhelmingly voted to endorse Jim Kenney and look forward to hitting the streets, neighborhood by neighborhood, to elect Kenney Mayor of Philadelphia,” said Liberty City Co-chair Sara Jacobson.
